The Card Shop!

I went back to the card shop yesterday and said, "Do you sell bereavement cards?"

"Yes we do." replied the assistant.

"Good," I said, "could I exchange this 'Get Well Soon' card for one?"

Reminds me of this true story. I went into a card shop and asked the assistant if she kept stationery. She replied "only when I'm standing still".

This is not to spoil your fun thread, Volty but I'll tell you.....and to be honest I can see the funny side of the florist's desperation for a sale...

My step daughter had twins...I popped into the florist to order flowers but when I got home I had a call to say that one twin had died....
I dashed back to stop the cheery message and flowers.....but was told I could only do that if I changed the flowers for a wreath for the funeral......
My silence and the anger from another customer brought the florist to her compassionate senses.... :-)

Oh I guess she just didn't want to lose a sale, Volty.....I was just gabbling through tears.....it was the other customer who put her in her place...
