my meds consist of alopurinol its a prevetitive med but even though im taking them i still get frequent attacks.
i take tesco 200 mg ibrophen and colchocine for relief.

I am assuming that you have had the diagnosis confirmed by blood tests.
I have no idea why you are having recurrent attacks, as the preventative regime and treatment of acute attacks seems reasonable. However i would guess that you are taking Alopurinol 300mgms daily and if that is the case, then i would double that douse immediately to 600mgms daily and see if that reduces the flare ups. Also, double the dose of Ibuprofen to 400mgms three times a day if necessary for the flare ups.
The monitor the situation for 2-3 months.
Your diet seems fine, but try to cut out the alcohol....;-)

I hate to fly in the face of medical opinion but......whenever we went to a certain town in Spain, my husband had serious gout attacks. Refraining from eating shellfish, liver, lentils etc made no difference. Anywhere else in Spain was fine. So we tried only using bottled water for everything, including making tea.coffee etc. Hey presto - no more gout however much shellfish etc he eats. Must have been to do with the mineral content of the tap water.
