Repeat Prescriptions

I found out today that Boots will no longer hold repeat prescriptions and order in your medicine for you. Yet another service, which in the main affects the elderly and those with long term conditions, taken away. It is not easy getting old.

Could it be the particular Boots you are with for some reason? I really hope that they don't stop as I get my repeats from there and it's very convenient for me. It must bring them in extra business though, with so many people going in to collect prescriptions.

My Boots usually screwed up every repeat prescription I entrusted them with. They are adjacent to my GP centre and was forever shuttling between twixt to get the bloody script sorted. Both Pharmacy and GP receptionist both blamed each other for their ineptitude so I told them to shove their repeat prescription texting fiasco and reverted back to picking up script at GP,checking it first and presenting it in personally to the pharmacy next door (Boots) Did it no more than 5 hrs ago.
Between them they couldn't organise a Woodpeckers Picnic in Sherwood Forest. Grrrrr

Tyrion, I would advise you to try an independent pharmacy and see how it goes. My local surgery (I have a choice of just the one where I live) has its own pharmacy. Nearly every month they have a problem with my 10 med prescription. I cannot believe they cannot get their act together, it is the same prescription every month for goodness sake. I wish you better luck with yours :)
Retro, don't be messing about like that. Try these.

Choux sorry to hear that. They are OK around here but I suppose it could depend on the area. Here's another one, perhaps better (I hope).

Our Health Centre has a computer based system called Emiss . Once you are on it all you have to do is tick the medicines for that month, the doctor prescribes on his computer and this is sent down to the chemist(Lloyds in our case). Then it is delivered to the person's home. Any appointments ,such as flu jabs, clinics etc.are put onto your computer. Ideal for housebound people.
