Yes. HPV (human papillomavirus) is contagious especially on the hands and feet.
Sorry, the word "especially" is moot in my previous answer.

What can I do to avoid harming anyone else, apart from keeping my hands to myself?
I would see the practice nurse at your GP practice and have them frozen off Sandy.
You can buy over the counter stuff as well.
I would try an over the counter self freeze before going to a doctors. It's a simple, easy DIY
"Warts and verrucas are caused by a virus. They can be spread to other people from contaminated surfaces or through close skin contact. You're more likely to spread a wart or verruca if your skin is wet or damaged."

Agree you can buy over the counter remedies folks, but from experience they are expensive and rarely work well as they are not strong enough. Why pay good money for something you can get for free from your GP. My practice has a skin clinic weekly and liquid nitrogen works very quickly.
because the NHS is overstretched and people going to doctors for ibuprofen and paracetamol and to get a wart frozen are all just tips of the iceberg, so anyway to reduce the usage of local practises is always helpful
Spath, you don't have to see a doctor for this treatment.
I would caution against using any medication when drunk or high.
More commonly, HPV causes warts to grow on the hands, fingers, feet, toes, knees and face. ... Studies have shown that common warts (i.e. not genital warts) can be spread through skin-to-skin contact. However, not all strains of the virus are highly contagious.
Very much so.

My wife was a librarian and warts were a hazard of the job, picked up from handling other people's books.
If you can stand a slight burning sensation, put drops of Tee tree oil on over a 2 week period, worked for me. You can buy 10ml bottles from most chemists/ supermarkets.
Hey guys, I want to share with my experience ,half a year ago, bought the ointment on website https://www.wartremover.net/wartrol/ . After receiving in the mail decided to consult a dermatologist friend. He looked and said-Yes, heard, can be used. The removal took me only up to two months. Frankly faked some time, did not on instructions , missed a few days. There was a crust formation and itching. There left barely noticeable spot where it was, those small not in sight.Does the H-Moles Formula Work? Yes, the H-Mole Formula certainly works.
