Grandson High Temperature.

Little grandson, 17 months, staying with me, has temperature of 92.3 last reading ( by ear). He's had Calpol and is drinking water. He was laughing and playing earlier while temp was high. He had bit of tummy upset today. Should I be overly concerned? Any advice?

Pity they didn't have it when we were young.

They/we did Hoppy, it was called paracetamol.

I don't remember getting paracetamol Sqad. Born in 1959 I was raised on useless soluble aspirin.

don't forget you can double up with parats and Ibuprofen

He's not out of the woods yet. He had a sleep late this morning for 2 hours. He was burning up again. I gave him Nurofen this time and plenty of water. He was a lot better after about 30 mins. He's had an upset tummy on and off, so think that's what it must be.

Went to local hospital with daughter and grandson,tonight. Seen doctor. He had a raging temperature again. Doctor confirmed fever and put it down to a virus. This is second bout within 2 weeks. Just needs plenty of fluids and Calpol or Nurofen. Not to worry about food. Poor little chap, he is usually healthy and very happy.

as a tip, ibuprofen lasts longer than paracetamol, so is good for overnight (i think it's a smaler volume too if taking the medicine is a probem for him)

Thanks too, Bednobs. I've have heard that too. My daughter gave him Nurofen tonight.
