He gets real bad razor burn, and this really helps. Plus one of them is rechargeable and he keeps it at work in case he has a late meeting which he has to suddenly spruce up for, or incase he doesn't get home at all and ends up working all night......
That lifestyle, tho, is not compulsory to owning the shaver.
I've got a phillips coolskin and it works well.
However I have recently started wet shaving after 30 years of electric shaving and I must say that probably you would not get such a close shave with an electric shaver.
A decent electric rechargable shaver will probably cost about the money you say but as with most things in life you get what you pay for.
