Broken Bones Pain
24 Answers
3 weeks ago I slipped on wet leaves and broke a couple of bones in left hand as I put my hands out to try and protect myself. Have a splint. Been referred to a hospital in central London with a specialist hand trauma clinic. Which is all fine(tho awkward) Thing is the pain is literally as bad as the day I did it - it isn't a fraction better. Still pulsating with pain - surely it should be feeling somewhat better by now??

paracetamol 1g regularly by the clock every four hours
and break thro - Ibuprofen
if you take ibuprofen - remember to take dietitian for your stomach.
latest advice is 200-400 three times a day
I would do 200 four times a day
if you get on top of the pain - then you need less to control it (keep it at bay)
[ hahaha not very funny - BUT - my bruvva - ca jaw post op - same advice, and I asked how it went
and he said it hadnt worked. - I was amazed and apologised,
and HE said: he looked on the internet, and the doses looked Very High. so he had halved the dose and was still in pain, you know it wasnt much good.
I said 'oh.' ]

It depends on your age.
There are a lot of bones in the wrist and hand, I have found that they take the longest amount of time to heal in regards to pain.
I don't think it should be pulsating pain but I am not a professional in this field.

I broke a couple of fingers and my wrist at the same time. The fingers were definitely the most painful... but they definitely were better once a splint was on, and a few days of ibuprofen and paracetamol were enough.
You may have worse breaks... but mine were 6 weeks to heal properly and I have had no problem since. I was 40 then. If that is any help, also try to keep them up above the elbow as much as possible to reduce any swelling, which will make it pulse.
