I have face ache.
The right hand side of my face really hurts. Toothache, earache, cheekbone ache, nostril ache.

Oil in ears, ibuprofen and decongestants taken for the rest.

Apart from that, I'm fine, albeit a little bit miserable.
Anything else I could do?

Oh no! I’m sorry you’re feeling so bad - nothing worse than toothache. Maybe gentle hot water bottle against face?? Xx
I guess this is sinus Tilly? I know it's really painful so sure you feel down. It's not for everyone but I like to use very warm hot water bottle on my face when I have sinus or tooth pain.
Question Author
Thanks, Smow. I don't actually have a hot water bottle but a hot towel might help.
Question Author
Same answer for Prudie. Thank you, as well.
How can you live without a hot water bottle? I have an upstairs one, a downstairs one, a spare one and keep one in my desk at work :-)
There seems to be a lot of these symptoms about. Must be a virus attacking sinuses. You've done all the right things Tilly. What helped me was inhaling steam with Vicks. My attack lasted about 10 days. Hope it doesn't last too long for you.
I used to soak a facecloth in boiling water then when I was able to handle it, wring it out and apply to cheek area.

It really did help.
any painful lumps or bumps in your hair? I know its a long shot but a mate of mine just had these symptoms and it turned out to be shingles. Both she and the doc thought it was sinusitis till the first lesion showed
What oil did you put in your ears?
Everyone should have a hot water bottle in work and a bed to put it in.
Question Author
I put warmed olive oil in my ears, 237.
A facecloth might be a better bet, Mamya. Thanks for that.

I don't like hot water bottles. I think they are dangerous.
Question Author
No bumps, Woof. I have had shingles twice. This is something different.
If it was me, I'd put some boiling water in a bowl, put my head over it and cover the whole lot with a towel. Breathe in the steam gently to open up the sinuses.
Question Author
Ellipsis, I can't do that. I panic when I can't seem to breathe because of the steam. Also, I don't think it does my face much good.

I could never, ever, go into a sauna.
Have you got a bug or sinusitis? If so, you don't need to put oil in your ears.
ok Tills, just thought I'd mention it. I like a spray decongestant or sterimar or both rather than tablets, you get the mechanical rinsing effect as well as the dcongestant
More sad news. Hopefully you'll feel better in the morning.
Question Author
I hope so, OG. Thank you.

Thanks for trying to help everyone. Off now. Goodnight. x
hope you feel better today Tilly xx
facecloth or tea towel, as hot as you can bear, over your ears and cheeks - it help warms through the snot in your Eustachian and sinuses and get it flowing and out of you - hate to be gross.. I learned about this from an aircrew member on an Aberdeen -Amsterdam flight when I was bunged up - the flight out had been pure agony when they had held us at 10k feet for 25 minutes....and then it took 4 hours for one ear to clear....... the facecloth worked within minutes.
