It shouldn't be inevitable though. No single person should be under that much scrutiny and hounded by the press they feel they should take their own life.

I know exactly what MartinMillar means, andy.
Caroline's recent life had turned into a bit of a car-crash and I, too, felt that there was going to be some sort of 'crisis'; either she'd be in re-hab getting the help she obviously needed....or she'd be found dead, at her own hand.

That is not to revel or glory in the detail, just that this is the way these things often end...

I agree with you jth. It’s so, so sad that she couldn’t face what was to come. She was so much in the public eye and I’m afraid being “hounded” although I wouldn’t put it quite like that, was the price of the fame that she wanted.

Lots of “celebrities” want the press attention when things are going well but not when there’s trouble. They can’t have it both ways. If it’s true about suicide, as it probably is, it was her choice.

The death of anyone by suicide is never 'inevitable'.
I was a Samaritan volunteer for three years, if I had taken that attitude, I would not have been much use to the hundreds of people I dealt with.

It's never over until it's over, and it is NEVER inevitable.
