Have You Ever . . .

. . . bought something and then wondered what you're actually going to do with it?
Today I bought a camera from a friend for £100. It's got such a good specification that, at that price, I simply couldn't resist a bargain. However I've already got a fairly decent camera and I'm not entirely sure what I'll do with the new one that I couldn't have done with the old one.
Even so, when it comes to thinking "What the bloody hell am I going to do with it now that I've actually bought it?", I'm not even in the same league as someone else who made an impulse buy today!

Although her shop was doing well she is not particularly business minded and sold her hand made stuff and made literally only penny’s on each item so was having a bit of financial trouble (not just because she was a poor business woman though).
She decided to flog all her beads but couldn’t find anyone willing to buy the lot so I bought it from her.
I paid £500 for about £8,000 worth of stock.
I still have it in my front room and I give most of it away to friends who are trying to raise money for charity.
I even took a load to the local charity shop and they sold it onto a jewellery maker lol
I still have over 12,000 beads if you know anyone who wants them lol

I can't help wondering, Rocky, whether the council that didn't want to know about the property when they decided to sell it might suddenly think about charging business rates on it now that someone else owns it!
Further, if rain gets in through the roof and then finds its way through the walls into the neighbouring properties, might not the owner find himself stuck with a ruddy great bill for repairs to their buildings?
PS: Now that you've bought the dress, perhaps you'll get serious about that diet you've been meaning to make a start on for ages?

You just need a bit of inspiration, Cassa333 ;-)

I have about as much imagination and crafting ability as a monkey that’s been dead for 6 weeks.
I only bought it from her to help her out financially as she wouldn’t take the money otherwise.
It is simply taking up space in my already cluttered house.

Reminds me of our George Forman grills. We must have had three, at least. Husband buys one; we don’t use it so give it away. Husband sees one on offer in a supermarket so buys it; we don’t use it so give it away; etc. husband sees one on offer. Me: NO, WE WON’T USE IT. He buys it anyway and it’s now in our cupboard of useless articles along with the breadmaker and Kenwood Chef thing.

. . . and the fondue set that someone gave you as a wedding present?
You've made me think how much my feet seem to have grown, even in adulthood, Clover. I bought those blue sude shoes either when I was at college or shortly afterwards. They were a size 7 but I took a size 7½ at that time. These days I usually buy size 9 shoes but I occasionally need size 10!
