There *must* be an explanation for this, but I've not seen it so far. When we see pictures of people crowded onto tubes and buses, they're criticised for their selfishness and stupidity.

But...how are they supposed to get to work?

I can understand criticism of those who made a family day out of it over the weekend, but I'm not talking about those. I'm referring to commuters who have jobs that can't be done from home, or key workers.

Then they must self isolate at work rather than go home and risk the family.
I used the tube and train to get home from London. I went to a help point as my train was cancelled and was challenged by the staff member. When I told him I had been caring for my elderly frail mother for the last five days so she didn't need a carer he changed his attitude. All I wanted to do was get home and get some sleep..
Khan has reduced the number of tubes so more people are using less tube and getting onto busier trains and buses.

the same thing in Bristol, First are running a Saturday service so there are more people on fewer buses.

I need to get in to the centre of Bristol as I work in one of the hospitals.
