Pain In Upper Right Arm

I think I've pulled a muscle in my upper right arm. I can't remember doing it though and the pain has been going on for around 5-6 days now. The pain is bad and takes my breath away whenever I try to lift or reach for something.

I've had arm ache before particularly after exercise but never this bad and the pain feels different. I put a heat pad on but that didn't do much so I tried some migraine cooling strip that I had. I'm still in a lot of pain and elevation and massage doesn't seem to work either.

Any suggestions?

Frozen shoulder?
Have you been doing repetitious exercises or some other action? Maybe it's a sprain/ strain. Do you take painkillers?

I did think this but the pain is in the arm rather than shoulder. Does it impact the arm?
When I had a frozen shoulder, the pain radiated down the arm.

I've been using a mouse and playing on my tablet, Patsy, but I do that regularly. I don't think I've done anything different with my arm that would cause that.

I very rarely take painkillers but I did take some paracetamol last night and it eased the pain a little. Not much though.
Ibuprofen is the best, if you can take them? Hope the pain wears off soon. x

Had a look at the NHS website and it does seem to be a frozen shoulder. Also said it could last 1-2 years :o(

Unfortunately, I can't take anything other than paracetamol due to stomach issues. Is there any other over the counter anti inflammatory I could take?
sounds like bicep tendonitis

Never heard of that but googled it and sounds like some of the symptoms of what I have. I don't seem to have pain in the actual shoulder, just in the upper arm muscle area.
Tigger, it might be worth having a look at these guys on Youtube. You need to search through the videos to find one that matches your symptoms but they are really good for DIY pain relief. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmTe0LsfEbpkDpgrxKAWbRA

Cheers Woof, will have a look through those tomorrow when I'm less sleepy.
Had same. Used Feathergills Magic wintergreen rub - ebay -Did the trick

What does that help with, Sivam? To be perfectly honest, I'm still trying to figure out what the pain is, if I've strained or torn a muscle or tendons as Bednobs has suggested. The pain has been gong on for days now and I woke up in agony this morning.
RSI probably. I massaged area firmly with wintergreen product and that helped in about two days. Never bothered again
