Virus. What Is Wrong With People.

Are some people living on another planet?
To listen to Government ministers you would think the virus is over and done with.
Headlines indicating that they "think it's all over".
Lockdown ends, Bank Holiday relief. Picnics a go go.
Distancing a thing of the past. Family get togetherness. Pubs and restaurants opening gardens. Back to school and work.
Let's get into the real world here.
The virus is still here. Here in NI parents have told schools they will not be sending children back to school till it's safe.
No one is safe till a cure is found. Flying? No one will be flying anywhere for a long time. Due to go on holiday? Forget it. The resorts don't want infected by hordes despite unfortunately losing millions in revenue.
Meanwhile the Government tells us its policy has been a success.
Unable to meet testing targets except on one day by fiddling figures.
Now Johnston wants to double the target. Did you listen to Brandon Lewis defending it this morning. More brains in a false face.
Highest death toll in Europe but government says that's wrong as you can't use statistics. We have watched statistics and graphs for months from the Government for Gods sake.
The government is at a loss to find the next step. After all the nonsense of "we are taking the medical experts advice" some of the experts have disappeared from the daily chat after speaking out!
Also £400.000 thousand PPE items just purchased by the Government in Turkey have found to be about as useful as themselves.

Are you aware that Keir Starmer and many others has been pushing for details of a lockdown strategy- and now Boris has said he'll announce a roadmap you are taking that as meaning - it's all over, when really it's just the start of a long slow attempt to allow people to start living again and save the economy before too many jobs are lost

Lots of speculation. Some things being leaked and run up the flagpole to see if anyone salutes them, or maybe there's a 'testing the water' analogy that works better. The picnics one follows from the fact that it's safer to be in the fresh air than in a room with no ventilation. Picnics in groups won't be compulsory
I do know it won't be compulsory ff -please don't treat me like a child! If it's being talked about, it's in the pipeline, or else why talk about it and put it on the news. Allowing people out and about more like that isn't helping the economy and I though that was the only reason for easing lockdown.
As NJ rightly stated on another thread, 30,000 deaths to this virus is a tragedy, but at 0.04% of the population, it is a tiny figure.
As of 5th May, of those 30,000, only 322 were aged under 45...or put another way, 0.00048% of the population.
So whilst I absolutely accept we cannot be blase, equally let's get this into some realistic perspective.
The simple fact of the matter is the economy is more important now, and therefore the lockdown must end and must end bloody quickly before any more damage is done. IF the lockdown goes beyond the furlough payments provided by the Government, there will be mass-redundancies - this will cause even more damage to the economy, mortgages/rent will go unpaid, there'll be a huge burden on the benefits system, and frankly, we'll be fcked.
It's turning into a cliche, but the cure will be much worse than the disease.

Maybe As the existence of life beyond Earth is unknown, planetary habitability is largely an extrapolation of conditions on Earth and the characteristics of the Sun and Solar System which appear favorable to life's flourishing.
but the likelihood is very small
Am I Right ?
I'm Not Wrong !

I don't think it will be the only reason. Allowing people who feel locked in their homes/flats to get out a bit more- maybe sit out in the fresh air - and allowing people to see their families will I hope be other reasons before too long.
