At the moment and started last night I am having like shooting pains from the side of my head into my ear, they are momentary but is there anything I could do.

It sounds like some form of neuralgia, very painful and just as you describe, shooting pains that only last a second but are very severe. Do you have any Pregabalin (lyrica) or Gabapentin? That works best for nerve pain, I find.

I got Gabapentin years ago but I don't think GPs are prescribing it any more.
What pain killers have you taken?
Yes both Pregabalin and Gabapentin are readily prescribed today by GPs
But aren't we being bit excitable here and precipitous?
Early days, take Ibuprofen or Paracetamol fot the pain and monitor the situation.

ah God bless the hand that reared you Sqad. Have been taking paracetamol - pain is not too frequent now.
