In spar this morning two young women and one bloke about mid twenties. No masks on. I said they could buy masks here about 75p.

Young girl replied, " I'm exempt, I have anxiety"

What, all three of you. I told her I was anxious caused by ignorant selfish arrogant *** like her.

Feel better now.

An elderly friend told a group of youths they should be wearing masks. They told him he'd had his day, now it's their turn. I think I might have had a bit more to say to them anout that!

Hi Bobbs, it really annoys me. No excuse for all three to not wear masks.
I don't blame the shopkeepers or the bus drivers for not saying anything, they would get a mouthful of abuse...or worse
Baaaaaaa

The good thing about getting older is you can say what you are thinking, lol.
Why wait for abuse from a shopkeeper when you can get it from another customer.
Question Author
I was polite when suggesting they could purchase cheap face masks at the checkout.
To suggest all three of them were exempt was ludicrous.
Question Author
The only abuse was from these young people totally ignoring safety procedures in these difficult times.
It's a shame that all this is making us all so rude. She wasn't rude to you, you were rude back. Up to you, of course, but it's a pity.

I wonder at people who stop dead (not literally) in the street as you walk past.
What if I stopped dead (not literally) at the same time :-)

No idea what that even means ?

My basic point is that people of my age are putting up with restrictions, albeit somewhat reluctantly, whilst a lot of youngsters just don't seem to care.

"No excuse for all three to not wear masks."

How do you know that for a fact?

It's all very sad.

Mask wearer v non mask wearer
Young v old
Rule of sixer v ruler of more than sixer
etc

In what sense is wearing a mask a "restriction" nuisance tho it might be.
It ought to be worth bearing in mind that young folk are also bearing the brunt of huge restrictions, most of them without complaint.

Well, for all three to have a legitimate reason for exemption would be stretching things a bit far.
You have no idea if they were exempt or had reasonable excuses but you thought you'd be abusive toward them still.

Very mature...
I feel that the government is to blame for not making ‘being exempt’ more official. There should be clear medical exemptions only for people not wearing face coverings. And really, if you wear a face shield, you can breathe perfectly well with asthma, COPD etc. Either we have a rule or we don’t. By the way, I don’t blame shopkeepers, bus drivers etc. if faced with a hostile group, not taking them on. Luckily, where I live, people seem pretty compliant.

I was not abusive, I politely suggested they could purchase masks at the checkout. Their response was arrogant.
