I really need to wear earplugs when I'm in bed but every type I have tried causes me to hear my heartbeat, my breathing and swallowing and loud whooshing noises which defeat the object.
Any suggestions?
Hi Barry,I’ve tried all types of ear plugs to help me sleep at night, the ones that work best for me are Howard Leight max. I empathise with you hearing your heart beat as I have Afib which is definitely not conducive to a good night’s sleep, if you start to hear your heart beat try pulling the ear plugs out slightly. Good luck.
What about an electric fan?? It doesn’t have to be facing you so that you feel it, but they all have a gentle hum and that may well block the noise out. I cannnot sleep at all without a fan on.
Interestingly, the noise machine I recommended this morning has several different fan sounds, several different white noises and the rest are "natural sounds" like rainfall, babbling brook, waterfall etc etc. I now can't get to sleep without a sound from this machine.
(I really couldn't do with having anything stuffed in my ears all night...and I'm not sure that it's particularly good for your ear canals).
