My wife was diagnosed ages ago as being pre diabetic.
Lately some issues causing her concern.
We want to order some test strips for urine, but some reviews said some test strips were not sensitive enough for very low indications of the presence of diabetes.
Can you recommend a test strip that you know is sensitive enough to use?
Some on Amazon were only a few quid but she needs accuracy.
Thank you.

Can your wife not go to the GP for a blood test?
Question Author
Very difficult to get in contact with gp.
Cheap quick test at home would give her something to tell the gp.
If she dropped a bottle of urine off at the surgery, it’s very easy and quick for the nurse to dip it.
If I was you/her, I’d call the surgery, express your concern and see what they say. She doesn’t need to see a doctor to have her urine dipped.

Cheers. Will do that.
Theland, I was told I was pre-diabetic some years ago. GP sent me on a course to learn more about diet and I was told to get my blood tested every year. I phoned up the receptionist, told her the tale and I'm now booked in.Being tested for pre - diabetes isn't a urine test, it's a blood test.

Pre-diabetes will usually be diagnosed by a doctor using either an HbA1c or a fasting plasma glucose (FPG) test. However, in some cases, an OGTT test may also be carried out.
ORAL GLUCOSE TOLERANCE TEST (OGTT)
Theland, please read my post or you will be wasting your time.
My surgery said they weren't handling urine samples if they could help it, because of C-19.
Your surgery might be different.
patsy, it isn't a urine test Mrs Theland needs. It has to be a blood test, but it looks like Theland is ignoring me as he usually does.
Yes, I read that Barsel. I agree.
It's just that if Theland thinks he can just pop a urine sample down to surgery, he might be turned away.
He will Patsy. Things like dropping a urine sample off have to be pre arranged, but if he wants to waste his time then that's up to him.
Contour blood glucose strips and meter is accurate enough.
If it is less than 9 then no big deal and she should carry on with prediabetic regime.
If it is 9 or above she needs to see her GP.

//////Lately some issues causing her concern.////

What are these "issues?"
sqad Theland isn't talking about blood testing strips and meters, he's talking urine testing for pre diabetes, and as far as I'm aware, this is done by way of the tests I mentioned at 19.37
Barsel....I admit that I was a bit confused
, but assumed he was talking about blood testing strips.
We will have to wait and see.
You can get a glucose blood testing kit for about £20 from Amazon, and have it by Sunday. Worth the price of a takeaway?
sqad from Thelands original post //We want to order some test strips for urine//
(From vagus) If she dropped a bottle of urine off at the surgery, it’s very easy and quick for the nurse to dip it.
( From Theland) Cheers. Will do that.
Barsel I think you are correct.
My advice still stands.
I also suggested they call the surgery, express their concerns and see what they say. Obviously, these days, you wouldn’t just turn up at the surgery.
A urine dip, if that’s what the surgery suggested, would probably/possibly show if it’s gone from pre diabetes to type 2.
I speak from experience.
Anyhow, best of luck whatever you decide to do.
If his surgery's anything like mine, Patsy, they'll have no problem taking the pizz, just another day.
Therapy......take the advise of Barsel or mine, as a urine sample is going tobe NO HELP in the diagnosis of diabetes.
Therapy?..?..I think that's what I need lol
