to get a full nights sleep
I have been waking up to 5 times a night for over a month or more.

i have no problem going to sleep, its just after two hours im awake, feeling as though i was suffocating. Any physical reasons for this.

anyone else care to share their sleepless tales. and how they may have conquered them. I have spoken with doctor but she seems to
think it might be nasal drip, causing me to cough, though i don't know if that is right.
bad dreams, needing the loo all come into play as well.

Have you tried sleeping sitting up?
are you actually suffocating? are you struggling to breathe?
Question Author
no can't say as i have. Wondered if i had some underlying medical reason that can cause this waking up at all hours. I can fall asleep ok, no problem, its staying asleep that i can seem to do
Question Author
yes woof,
I had a problem sleeping due to a trapped nerve in my neck.Doctor prescribed Amytriptyline.
Question Author
that's at least what it feels like, often have thrown off covers of duvet and wake with a start each time.
Question Author
she wanted me to take that danny but been trying to cut down on meds.
Question Author
can't seem to do, sorry typo all over the place
I regard it as normal to wake up several times in the night (and not always cos I need the loo). I'm lucky if I get a total of 6 hours sleep per night in fits and starts - it doesn't bother me unduly.
Question Author
well it bothers me. I am not getting 6 hours sleep.
Do you suffer from the nasal drip during the day?
Question Author
ubasses, yes sometimes. Nose is irritated a lot of the time, but its worse at night.
A gp suggested medication and you won’t take it. You cannot be that desperate, else you would try anything if it is so bad .
Question Author
I wouldn't post anything on here if it was a good thing. No i don't want to take that particular med, i have had it in the long distant past and it didn't help me at all
‘ the long distant past ‘ . Is not now .
Well, this has been discussed repeated over recent times and nothing seems to have helped you.

Hopefully once things are more open your GP can refer you to a sleep clinic.

Re the nasal issue, try some olbas oil on a tissue inside your pillowcase.
Emmie, for what were you prescibed it in the past?
Question Author
could be mamy, but that could take an age.
Question Author
