Weighted Blankets

My elderly Mother has trouble sleeping, we have tried most things but nothing has worked so far.

Have been reading about weighted blankets which i thought we could try. they are, however, quite pricey at £100+ so would value anyones opinions who actually has one.

Happy to pay it if it works.

They are supposed to be really good. I would get one myself, if the dogs didn't give the same effect. But, I believe they have caused a couple of deaths as well, so it depends on her.

Oh thats a bit scary Pixie, how do they cause deaths? She has COPD.

I read that the deaths were children. Adults were unaffected.

had you thought of trying extra bedding before spending the money?
Why does she have trouble sleeping and does it distress her? A certain level of broken sleep is usual in old age, its only when it distresses the person or is dangerous that it needs addressing.

Extra bedding may overheat the sleeper.

I’d look at light, noise and temperature in the bedroom first.
