Well What Do You Think?

My mom was born in 1921, so for many on here I don't really have to point out the nightmares and horror she endured. She's still alive and doing very well. But do you know what she says more than any thing else about the present day.
Just a taste as I could go on and on, and I'm with her all the way. People are greedy, selfish, and never ever satisfied with what they have, what they want is more, once they have more, they want better, it never stops. They spend so much of their life wanting, they forget to live.
Even with the present problem, they can't stop wanting to do what they want, even in the face of death, and destruction of others. However bad things got during my lifetime people helped others in anyway possible, today its about me me me and my material goods.
I got her a new good quality fleece blanket for Christmas for when she's sitting watching TV, you would think I had bought her a new house. That great full, and over the moon for such a basic item today. She says that if folk don't get their priorities right very soon the price is going to be a lot higher than what it is now without a doubt.

There is a balance and many are grateful for the smallest of things, be they gestures or gifts, they tend not to make the news though.
God bless your lovely Mum, she sounds wonderful.

Its what I expected off some gulliver. I've not got a problem with people having fun and enjoying life, but like she says unless we get priorities in order we are heading for disaster, and not just with the virus, she's not daft she also mentioned the disgusting amount of waste food, I won't tell you what she thought of the school food box, apart from she'd seen better parcels during the war years.
Well done that older lady. Just think, it wasn't long ago that some were looking forward to all our older citizens passing away, to give them a clear run in setting up quangos to do the very things she highlights. All guvvermeant funded of course, or on the say so of our zoo keepers across the water. You are sure that wasn't talking to you directly then, and that it was more of a general observation?
There have always been people like that. I had two aunts like it who were born in the early 20's. They looked down on my Mum, their sister, because she hadn't made a "good" marriage and never did a hand's turn to help my grandmother, their Mum. They would turn up to flaunt the latest car/clothes/posh holiday and when we visited their houses, it was like walking into department stores....a bit like Hyacinth Bouquet.
