She gets her pipes from her mother, who was a semi-professional singer. She is as fabulous a singer as she is an actor. Her performance as the title role in Mrs Biggs was superb.
There’s no doubt she’s a fantastic singer and a great actress. Saw her in the West End a few years ago as Fanny Brice in Funny Girl, absolutely fabulous.
She was taught singing and dancing from age 4 and performed in amateur musical theatre at 7. Her professional debut was at 13 playing the orphan Annie at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.
From age 14 she was a member of the National Youth Music Theatre where she performed in their West End production as Tallulah in Bugsy Malone and later as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.
