I assume she is suffering from some kind of mental illness. Living in a house like that, would she not have been sectioned under the Mental Health Act as a danger to herself?

you cant section someone just because they live in a dirty house.

she does have a mental illness though so it should have been monitored more carefully by a community team.

They don't section you now like they used to do. There are thousands of mentally ill people coping on their own. Why don't you go round and clean up then?

Totally agree about the acting ... very well done. I think they said she had a key worker or something who was supposed to visit ???

it is not easy to have someone sectioned under the Mental Health act - a social worker has to have good grounds for doing so. But it is not only people like Stacy Slater's mum that can be sectioned - elderly people who no longer can care for themselves and live alone sometimes have to be sectioned for their own good.
