Here where i live, there are some charities that might provide a free sitting service for an hour or two a week to give a main family carer a break. That is free. If you are being discharged from hospital, and need extra support, carers may be provided by social services for six weeks for free, with an assessment to see how much you would have to contribute after the six weeks is up. If you employ a private carer you have to pay.
