As some of you will know, I have treated myself to a table top dishwasher for the first time in my life.
I'm gradually getting used to it although I'm never sure if I'm stacking it properly as sometimes the mugs come out with water on them and not always clean but, the question I would like to ask is, once you start it up, can you stop it if you see you have forgotten to put something in it, or is it like a washing machine where you can't open it once it starts up? TIA.
My only experience of using a dishwasher came back when i worked behind a bar. We found that if you opened the door slightly, the mechanism would stop and we could add to the load. Once the door was closed, the cycle would continue. That was a good few years back, mind.
mine too. How many programs does yours have? My quick wash does not leave things dry but the normal one does. if things are coming out dirty, i'd check the arms can go round and nothing is poking thru or up (depending where the arms are!) stopping hthem moving round
Not sure how many progs, but I've found the best one seems to be the Eco one.
It has a button you can press at the beginning that shortens the progs so instead of taking 2 hrs, it takes just over an hour.
At the moment I've got it on a hot wash as I've put an oven shelf and burners off the cooker, I just hope that's ok.
My mugs come out with water on the top of them, but I don't know why. I always set mine to go on overnight so am afraid I can't help with your other query.
My pots are always clean. I use Finish powerball Quantum ultimate (! bit of a mouthful).
I can open my dishwasher mid-cycle, but I don't understand how your mugs are coming out with water in them unless they're the wrong way up.. Are you loading them upside down as you should?
Also when you load the machine make sure that none of the items are touching others. Lumping it all in haphazardly can result in things coming out dirty.
I think the reason the mugs have water on top might be to do with the fact that they have a bit of a rim on them. It doesn't bother me though, I just dry them off.
I'm putting the mugs in upside down, and I think the reason a few come out with water on the base is because I haven't put them in on a slant, I'll get the hang of it one day I'm sure.
I've watched a few videos on YouTube so I'm learning every day.
Can't wait to see if the oven shelf comes out clean as that is a job I really dislike doing.
The burnt in grime on the oven shelf will probably be loosened. A gentle scrap with a blunt knife should flick most of it off, and shower your kitchen floor with horrible mess. (Do it outside over the lawn)
I know they say there is no need to rinse and soak etc, but it only takes a second to rinse the cup of coffee on the bottom of the cup, so that is what I do now.
I have the oven shelf on 75 degrees, so hopefully that will get it fairly clean. Just hate doing every slat with a brillo.
Barsel - buy yourself Oven Cleaner from Poundland for a pound.
Unzip put the shelf inside the bag - put the solution in (along with your grill). Close bag - leave (me) for a few days - it comes out like a brand new pin.
