Ladies - Have You Used One Of These?

I bought a Tresemme full finish air styler and have just tried using it for the first time. It has dried my hair without making it frizzy, which is good. But I can't seem to get the brushes to stay in when I use them. I actually followed the instructions and I can hear a click, but when I use it the brush falls out.

Is it just me being an idiot?
Or does anyone else have this problem?
I'm off to work now, my hair is straight-ish but it will probably be curly by the time that I get home.

On the Boots website, there are roughly the same number of 1-star reviews (8) as there are 5-star ones (7), with just two people giving the product 3 stars.

One of the 1-star reviews reads as follows:
"The brush heads are almost impossible to attach and if you do manage it, tug of war to remove them. Mostly they just fall out of the handle and so the item is useless".

Another says:
"The straight brush is easy to attach but the two round brushes are not. Instructions say push until it clicks into place. Neither did. I was reluctant to push too hard in case I damaged it. Took it back to Boots today. 2 assistants attempted to attach the brushes without success. They then tried an alternative which they had in store. Again with no success. I was refunded."

This is also shown:
"Even for the low price I would have expected better quality. The brush attachments come off and after only 3 or 4 use".

. . . along with this:
"I bought this as it has both hot and cold air button and button to release the brushes. However i had problem attaching the brushes, and once i have attached it was almost impossible to detach."

So it seems that you're not alone in experiencing difficulties in attaching and/or removing the brushes.

I suggest returning the product to Amazon for a refund.

I am going to keep it as I got it at a reduced price ages ago and only tried it properly this morning.

Now that I know it is a fault with the machine I feel better. I thought that I was in eejit mode.

I have been using straighteners on my hair to try and control the fizzyness. They make it dry and flyaway.

I have something similar (also tresemme). I just bought it about 6 moths ago and love it. I blow dry my hair until it is nearly dry then use it to straighten and style. I think you need to curl your hair around the brush, hold it in place for a bit to let the hair dry and then release gently.

wolf, have you ever used any home brazilian blowdry products? I have recently strted using one from amazon, and although it only lasts between washes (1 week) i find it keeps my hair non-frizzy

Toorak, I usually dry and then either leave it or straighten it. If I take my time and do it properly it looks good, but I am not a morning person so I am usually rushing around and have little time.

Bednobs, I had an excellent Dove product that they stopped making and the the same happened to an Aussie product. I am using the John Frieda flawlessly straight conditioner and primer just now. I have order ed the Brazilian stuff to try it as some of the John Frieda range is becoming difficult to find.

It is all too fekkin complicated.

I also used to have straighteners but never used them and threw them out - too drying. I much prefer the hot dryer. I used to just brush and blow dry (I also can’t be faffed with spending ages styling hair) but a couple of minutes with the hot dryer makes my hair look a lot neater :-)

Toorak, I would much prefer to let it dry on its own. But it turns into a strange curly afro type style.

Chris, that is one strange looking cat. I watched this last night. It was interesting viewing. Cats are fascination, cat psychology would be interesting to study.




Bednobs, I have Miriam Margoyles lack of tact and an inability to decide what is a suitable subject for conversation. Not everyone was as fascinated with the story of a guy dying of radiation poisoning who had explosive diarrhea which covered a ceiling as I was.

I have this but have never had a problem with the brushes falling out. Is the little button that you press to release the brush stuck down?
