A few months ago had to have a sigmoidoscopy and had polyps removed and diagnosed with 'piles'.

But this hasn't cured my frequent (and often urgent) need for a toilet...several times a day...or the amount of blood that im loosing each time.

Im just left with a diagnosis of piles but no information on how to deal with the frequent need to pass waste or why I am bleeding so heavily everytime that I go to the loo.

Only just made it home tonight after visiting my family and toilet was full of blood.

No doubt that they do....
(And thanks for answering)
But I'd like to know whats going on in my body first.

Its a bit disconcerting to have a toilet full of blood after every bowel movement, an urgent need to use the toilet in the first place (everyday) and then be told, after medical investigation, that you've got piles, so deal with it!

HOW??

I never for one moment thought that I had anything seriously wrong
with me. Just want an end to been afraid to be out and about without needing a cr! p and leaving blood everywhere.

the blood in the toilet would frighten the life out of me - that one time when I did bleed I was out of mind - got the colonoscopy quite quick and was told it was diverticulitis - if I ever got bleeding again I would beside myself - not to frighten you Nailit but I'm just telling you the truth. Think you are too lacksadaisical about this. You must torture your doctor to do something about this.
You must request further investigation - you cannot lose so much blood!
is the toilet definitely full of blood? A little goes a long way, so appearances can be deceiving.

Whatever, I'd have thought you should be at your GP's, asking for a second op[nion as necessary.

Dont think that I will go that far JJ but im certain that I will chase it up now.
Along with the non follow-up blood pressure meds tests that I am supposed to have had.

NOW, how long can it take to get an appointment?
I'll try first thing tomorrow (8am)

Haz & jno, you both may be right,
Thanks for replying.

Toilet paper just red when wiping.
(Just spent ages on trying to put things a better way but can't.
blood red toilet paper everytime...)
Have you started treatment for piles as many have advised you ?
When I said "torture" Nailit - I meant contact frequently.
Diet has been the critical factor in my ongoing, and similar, problems, as others have mentioned. Take notice of the diet plan your docs/hos will be able to provide.

Not until my doctor has advised me who maybe more informed than many AB members who themselves have informed me that they maybe more advised than you....

;-)
Oops, I’m sorry I thought you had been diagnosed with ‘ piles ‘
make sure you are not eating beetroot or any kind of red drink that could leave its mark
Nailit/ You mentioned "fatigue" - twice I suffered from some of your problems (though not the urgency to urinate one) - it was discovered that I had a gastric ulcer with quite a loss of blood.

How rude Nailit - Anne was just helping like anybody else on this site.

If I may say so - you have been suffering from this problem of bleeding for quite a long time - you are mad leaving it this long.

Mad?
I'm fuming!
Are you going to have a word with my GP?
I suggest folk leave it to NAILIT to contact his doctor in order to resolve his issues.
