Isn't this the media stirring stuff up again?

PA will be undertaking the final vigil with his siblings - Harry will not be there. It is only at this final vigil that he will be allowed to wear military uniform.
Possibly. However Andrew is one of the late Sovereign's children, Harry is not .
No Andrew is only wearing uniform when he keeps vigil with his other three siblings. It looks, from the photo, that Harry is in uniform at the cathedral and not Andrew
andrew is her son not grandson he is a closer relation
These are the key points in the story:

* Working members - which includes neither Andrew nor Harry - of the royal family will wear uniform when present at five ceremonial events during this period of mourning the Queen.
* as a non-working member of the royal family, the Duke of York will not wear uniform, sources said, except as a special mark of respect for the Queen at the final vigil in Westminster Hall.
* neither Harry nor William are attending the vigil in Westminster Hall, which is only for the Queen's children - Charles, Andrew, Anne and Edward.

So if you want to read it that "they" found an event that Andrew could wear his uniform at and Harry couldn't attend, specifically so that Andrew could wear a uniform at one (out of five) events and Harry couldn't wear one at any events, then you could read it that way. Or you could read it another way! Personally, I think it's nothing to do with favouritism. Attending the vigil is hardly the main event.
Misleading again. Still it never hurts to stir. :o/
more BS protocol
Harry chose not to be a working royal, therefore he loses all privileges associated with them. His choice, he pays the price.
Apparently Andrew really wants to go dressed as an admiral.

He doesn't seem to realise how ridiculous this sounds.
A tad ironic that the two Royals who actually saw active service in the Falklands and Afghanistan, are barred from wearing a military Uniform.
And then those with honorary titles, who were kept well away from danger, get to dress up.
Have just watched the procession of the queen's casket from Holyrood Palace to St Giles Cathedral for the thanksgiving service. Three of the queen's children were in military uniform but Prince Andrew was in a morning suit.
Much as I admired the Queen I have had enough of BBC and ITV now, they should put normal programmes on again except for Monday.
I bet Charles would rather be talking to his flowers at Hughgrove.
Or you could leave them alone until after their mother's/grandmother's/great grandmother's funeral. Suppose it's too much to ask.
I'm glad the idiots lining the Royal Mile who started clapping as the coffin passed were quickly put in their place. If you turn up to pay your respects to someone, then you should do just that: stand in reverent, solemn silence.

And I think the policemen along the route should have been told to remove their horrible hi-vis jackets and police the procession in their black uniforms.
goodgoalie, apparently the queen was heartened by the polite applause after the Queen Mother died so I suppose a precedent has been set. I would prefer to hear applause rather than see people raise their arms to get photographs of the hearse and coffin.
I trust Andrews has his pockets sewn up
or if the problem be perceived as wandering hands then his sleeves

as for Harry - you can say - I will have none of this - I am Harry Windsor married to a nice American girl. two beeeeeee-autiful girls
but THEN you cant say
oh a field marshal's uni is quite fun ( baton designed by one George IV, mad design but not a mad king (*)) why can't I wear one for a day - after all I AM a prince !

Harry who had difficulty with his O levels doesnt understand

(*) 1815 ( the year not the time GMC folks!) Prinny ( the Prince Regent silly ) wanted to award a Field Marshal's baton to Wellington ( he was the one that won the Battle remember - No, Waterloo, The SOmme was later, Splonkfield jnr)
.... 1815
and so George said - Make one!
= institute a rank called Field Marshal
and he said down and destigned the baton

when everything was ready, it was all sent off to Wellington
// apparently the queen was heartened by the polite applause after the Queen Mother died //

eerrr no not at Diana's funeral
after Champagne Charlie's speech - "we will protect the two young children...." intoned the Earl,
applause broke out
and Her maj said - - oh they are applauding now are they?
