I have a nice, tiled kitchen floor, in the summer it's nice and cool but the winter months it soaks up all the heat from the radiators and very cold even through your slippers.
So yesterday I bought some carpet tiles and fixed them with just double -sided tape so not to damage the tiles and can take them back up in the summer, they look great, and they are no doubt warmer.
I got halfway through doing the job when 1 tile just would not stick to the floor, I walked on it several times, pressed on it all over, jumped up and down on it and started to lose my temper, after about 5/6 mins trying, I decided that maybe this area needed an extra clean, took the tile in hand and realised I had not taken the backing off that side of the tape. Have you ever laughed at yourself? :0)
if I'd realised after two minutes I'd have seen the funny side, so to speak; after 20 minutes or so my sense of humour would have failed and would have needed a large glass of chardonnay to recharge it
Some of you may remember a few weeks ago me having a bad day on the canal towpath, trying to get a poncho on when it started to rain. Someone walking by asked if I was ok? I looked like Tommy Cooper trying to escape from a tied- up sack. I'm going downhill fast, I think. :0)
