A couple of days ago, my left index finger started to twitch. Annoyingly, it is still doing this sporadically. I put it down to the fact that I was holding my phone a lot, so my hand was in a slightly clawed shape for a long time. It could also be that I was bending my arm in a certain way for long time, maybe trapping nerves? At what point should I worry? It’s not constant, but it is still happening. I have taped my two fingers together to try to stop it!
This could be due to numerous conditions, none of which are life threatening.
You may well be right in that the median nerve may be trappted at your wrist (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) however there may well be a more benign and simple reason, which may probably resolve without treatment.
I have just been diagnosed with trigger finger. I had never heard of it before. Apparently it is to do with tendons. My finger locks like a claw, very painful
