Pain

Er indoors has been suffering with pain in the side and back of neck , plus back pain
GP has referred her for an MRI scan ,for possible nerve impingement ( he could not say when she would get an appointment )
In the meantime he has prescribed exercise and the medication Amitriptyline .
She has taken one tablet .
However reading the information leaflet , it says to speak to doctor if you suffer from glaucoma ( which she does )
While she tries to get to speak to doctor , is there an alternative medication she can take ,as the pain is constant ?

Pregabalin or Gabapentin are good alternatives for what is known as "neuropathic pain." Unfortunately they are presription only drugs.
In the meantime, you are stuck with Ibuprofen or Paracetamol.

You would have thought he would have looked at her notes and saw that she was indeed been treated for glaucoma , by the eye hospital .
Does those 2 other drugs you name causes drowsiness and knocks you out ,like Amitriptyline ?
