For the past couple of weeks I've had this sporadic pain shooting down my arm. It starts in my armpit and reaches almost to my elbow. Just a fleeting second and it's gone.
t can happen at any time whether I'm moving my arm or not.
Anyone have any idea what it could be?

Which arm?
Question Author
Ah yes. It's my left arm. No pain across my chest. No tightness. No shortness of breath.
I'm wondering if it has something to do with my accident just before christmas when I fractured my left elbow. But I have had absolutely no problem with that for quite a while now.
Have you tried asking a medical person? Better than coming here. Maybe Sqad can comment, but I still reckon a doctor would be the place to go for advice. Good luck.
? A compressed nerve.
I know there a lot of nerves in the elbow area, so I reckon it could be compressed nerve, as Hazlinny has said.
Maybe the elbow fracture is responsible. Sqad!!! Patient for you!!

Ok, thanks all. I don't usually post about medical matters but this was just niggling away at me.
From your description this is no big deal and certainly not life threatening.
I think that Hazlinny is on the right track and to be more specific, irritation rather than compression of a nerve from the neck, probably with an arthritic origin.
Watch and wait.
