Do you know why you have light sensitivity? If not, get checked up at the optician.
As far as I know it is impossible to reduce the sensitivity by exposing your eyes to more light and should be dealt with by shading your eyes as much as possible - sunglasses, peaked caps and so on.
Go find out the reason for your discomfort by visiting a professional. A GP or an optician.
Mine are also sensitive to light. I am firmly under the care of the optician and hospital as I had suspected glaucoma. They are now fairly certain that I have it in the very early stages (doesn't handicap me, 'field' tests fine so no problem with driving). I have eye-drops to treat it, but they do make my lids red and sensitive,
The other cause is blepharitis - again an optician would tell you. That's a long job to get rid of, but it can be done.
I don't think you can build up immunity.
I have light-reactive lenses, which do the job.
I have blepharitis and don’t have sensitivity to light.
As I understand it, it can’t be ‘cured’ just treated and dealt with. I have an eye bag which I heat in the microwave and use twice a day, its the best way of dealing with it and recommended by my optician. I also have drops but all they do is relieve the symptoms.
If my eyes were very sensitive to light, I'd want to know why.
If you google "eyes sensitive to light", you will see that there are several reasons for the condition.
As above, you really need a professional opinion.
I also have blepharitis and my doctor told me to wear dark glasses every time I go outside, sun or no sun. If I forget, my eyes almost shut themselves! I was told once past a certain stage it is incurable and I have passed that stage a few months ago. This all happened after having cataracts removed. My own fault I should have been more careful after the op.
