I like to do intermittent fasting, however i need to take amitryptaline, & this increases appetite & makes fasting really hard.

Does anyone have any ideas or tips to lessen that effect on me?

Literally anything

i'm trying to do some tests - such as - A lot of water Vs a little, or empty stomach, etc

but i thought there might be something like have it with milk or orange or with extra salt or anything really.
or take it with another type of tablet or substance?

I realise this could be different for different people, but all ideas welcome

I have PCOS which causes obesity for some people, so im really struggling with this extra appetite.

Without the amit i can go all day without hunger & have one meal a day, quite happily, but with Amit, im wanting little snacks.

Thanks :) x

Well there's always Saxenda or Wegovy which can be self-funded or the former prescribed on the NHS if you have pre-diabetes and a cardiovascular risk factor.

Or just prioritise your intake of protein and get plenty of water-dense, high-fibre foods. If you have to have a snack, make it a boiled egg (no toast).
I have PCOS (which has caused me to become diabetic) and take Amitriptyline. I haven't noticed any difference in my appetite.

Do you actually feel more hungry? Or are you just aware that this is a side-effect?

I've taken Amitriptyline for 20 years. Never affected my appetite?
