LB, I may be misreading your post but can you get the test done at your surgery but with a two month wait? If so your doctor would have sent the blood form directly to a nurse and the nurse should be able to do a urine test. As Sqad said it is not urgent as your recent test was fine so I would just book the next available test. Sorry if I've got it wrong x
Did you book by telephone through your surgery. I have given up dealing with our surgery reception by telephone, I go along and do it face to face - they're just a little less useless that way.
As I understand the situation there is not a two month waiting list for a blood test.
The GP wants lb to wait two months because he was happy with the results of the last blood test.
My GP often gives me the 'blood form' so that I can book the blood test in three months time, saves me going back to the surgery to collect it.

Just to clear up a couple of things. I don't have a urine infection I just peed a lot one night, not painful. My daughter was concerned about my feet and toes going almost numb which has been happening for well over a year. I've been to the Vascular department at hospital and I was cleared of any vascular problem.
Margo yes I have booked the BT at my surgery but 2 months was earliest they had. You have to do it by phone on this automated system and urine probs weren't mentioned on it. So thought I might take a urine sample with me when I go to the blood appointment (worth a try).
Canary as I have severe COPD I can't walk more than a few steps or I can't breathe. There is no parking or disabled parking at the surgery. There is a place that would be perfect and I shall ring them tomorrow and see if they do both tests. If they do I think I have to get a Blood form from docs. Don't know if I need a urine form.
Barry no the GP doesn't want me to wait 2 months so sorry I know this isn't very clear.
I've just checked the appointments available at the Phlebotomy Clinic in Ipswich. If we ignore what I'm guessing is a cancellation on 5 September (where there's just one appointment available), the first appointments available for booking are on the afternoon of Friday 15 September (where there are 16 appointments on offer). However I know that I can get a faster appointment, if I need one, by phoning my consultant's secretary, as she has access to a block of appointments which are held back for urgent cases.
yes if you have just had one in the last two weeks
Appointments available on the 6th September at Princess Royal Hospital; on the 19th at the Royal Alexadra and on the 5th at the Royal Sussex
All bookable online. Can you get to those hospitals easily?
