esophageal dysmotility, and an esophageal web.
Been  advised this morning that the result of a barium swallow shows both these conditions. Thank you.

Oesophageal dysmotility means that the gullet is not working properly causing difficulty in swallowing.

This is always secondary to something else in the gullet, in your case and oesophageael web, which is a fragile lining of gullet forming a blockage.......all bebign , nothing malignant.

Treatment is dilatation of the web breaking it down allowing food to pass.

May be done under local anaesthetic as a day case.

No big deal.
