Im red green colour decicient and one of my friends is red green colour blind. Whats the difference? Rich

it used to be called colour blindness but as it is highly rare for someone to be totally unable to see a colour it is more correctly known nowadays as colour defective. So this is prob terminology development
I suppose I'm red-green deficient - I often have trouble telling them apart, particularly dark reds and dark greens. But not always, so I can't really say I'm colour blind.

In case you've never actually been tested, check here, jno fir the Ishihara test. It's still the gold standard for color perception testing...

thanks Clanad - as I feared, I could make out the first one clearly, a couple of others dimly, the rest not at all. (I can distinguish traffic lights without trouble, however.) Sorry rich, this doesn't really answer your question - just mine!
