Ex Pats can now vote in the UK General Elections thanks to the Tory  Party ,who changed the law for this to happen thinking it would bring more votes to help their ailing party. But it looks like it's going to rebound on them.. There are millions of expats who have  vowed to get their revenge on the Tories for Brexit and how it  has changed their lives abroad.   Woo Hoo..🤣🤣 Lol

Didn’t Reece-mogg admit that the Tories last attempt at gerrymandering (ID required for voters) backfired against them – with many older people being turned away at polling stations for not having the correct ID.

This big mistake that Rishi and his Merry men made, could well seal the fate of the  Tory Party and usher Sir Keir into No 10.

The Tories didn't think the expat vote out did they.🤣

Many older people have a bus pass, photo I.D, they returned home collected it and returned to vote.

"Many"

A bit too late for the liars in the Tory Party and the liars in the SNP Party. The voters have found them out.Hopefully a landslide for the Labour Party next election.

The Tory plan with photo ID was to disenfranchise certain groups who would normally vote Labour while benefitting the Tory Party Yet another dirty trick by the desperate outgoing Con Party.

\\"Many"//

Yes many, they also have a driving license, passport and a bus pass, thats 3 forms of I.D

Spread across all constituencies I doubt the expat deserter votes will have much impact.

The Brits abroad clubs are now saying ."We are on the Brexit front line, whether it's because of the 90 day rule ,draconian work restrictions ,long passport queues , blocked UK bank accounts etc etc. Its time to get revenge at the UK general election  by voting out the Culprit Party .And hoping the new UK Govt will lean more towards the EU.

What groups would these be?

Davebro 10.21  Wrong....Why do you think The Cons are bringing the expats votes back ???Because Sunak realises that the expat vote will have a lot of impact  ,otherwise he would be thinking like you do. Get it .

No, maybe he's doing it because he feels it's the right and fair thing to do. Personally I disagree with him though- I have no time for the whingers and wind up merchants who have decided to leave here and cristicise from afar rather than help improve things

It's my opinion gully - I doubt if there will be any way to prove if I'm right or wrong (will expat vote numbers & who they voted for be declared seperately?) but we shall see.

Just popped in to ask when are these things going to improve?

English Tories, gully,Scottish SNPers.A plague on both their houses.Maybe this year the plague will finally hit both these nationalist parties.

I think it was a big mistake to declare the brexit vote result by region - just led to division & recrimination (mainly by ynna!).

They should have shipped all the vote papers to the NEC in Birmingham, mixed them up, conted them & put out the overall result. IMV

Actually, dave, that's a really good suggestion which had never occurred to me. To continually hear that "Scotland voted to remain" and "London voted to remain" is very wearing. I continually point out that it was the UK which held EU membership, not Scotland, not London and not Acacia Avenue round the corner from me. Without being part of the UK those places would not have benefitted (or suffered) from EU membership anyway.

Surely two of the criteria for getting a vote on who runs this country should be:

- Living in the UK.

- Paying taxes in the UK.

oh dear - found the can of worms, now where's that can opener!
