Relationships In Football

I quite often read about female footballers being in a same sex relationship with other players,  and the issue has arisen this week after a manager's  comments.

It made me wonder whether this happens as much or at all in men's professional football. Maybe it's just that women are more open about it.

Yes, there may be some that go under the radar but I'm not aware of any player- player relationships that have been made public knowledge.  It's more common / widely reported in the women's game.

I think men still fear being verbally abused by 'fans' if they are open about being gay.

Maybe fear getting abuse from their team mates, too.

It's a fact that less gay men play football than gay women.

So many of them  seem to have balletic tendencies and a penchant for preening.

Preening and more especially ballet are not signs of homosexuality.
