...released Gaza hostage tells BBC.  Ada Sagi, an Arabic and Hebrew teacher who lived for decades in the Nir Oz kibbutz near the Israel-Gaza border trying to help reconciliation efforts by teaching Israelis Arabic to speak to their neighbours said that she now believes the world hates Jews and that she no longer believes in peace because she understands that  Hamas don't want it.

When will the rest of the world understand that?

Her terrible experience has unfortunately warped her view. The whole world is not against Jews. Certain groups will be for historic reasons, and because of recent activity from Israel, but that isn't the whole world. I hope things become clear for her and she feels much less stressed soon.

I think in that respect, OG, it must be disheartening to see all the protests.  She's had a rude awakening.

I think a lot of the World do understand it but, as we see on this very site, there is a lot of 'anomosity' to the Jews from some quarters and perception comes from he who shouts loudest.

At least now she knows Hamas don't want peace - and coming from someone who's worked towards it for years, that's really something..

it's a sad thing when somebody who has suffered something terrible wants others to suffer it too. the alternative to peace means more and more people going through what she went through--and worse. fortunately not all of the hostages or their families have the same point of view.

well I can think of 37 000 other women and children who cant understand that, which is often thought, a very good start

Hi untittled, I think we are the only two here who understand that there are around a million or so recent converts to Hamas - and those are the Gazans in North Gaza, no they are in South Gaza now, no -  oops, they are in recently liberated Al-shifa, no -  now they are in rafa which is declared safe today.

It a different thing to not believe peace is possible, and to not want it to occur.

Untitled, where on earth do you get the idea she wants others to suffer?  She's worked for peace for years but now understands that Hamas doesn't want peace.  Which bit of that don't you understand?

There can't be peace with people that don't want peace. Hamas doesn't want peace, and has repeatedly said so.

Only when that organisation is destroyed will there be any hope for progress.
