Ive been on the pill for about 5 years becuase I have heavy periods. The problem is that Im getting more and more forgetful, so havn't been taking my pill regularly, and so stopped taking it completely about 2 months ago. In that time Ive lost weight, and stopped getting headaches, but I havnt really had a period yet. I've switched brands afew times, but not really found one that Im compatable with, and now that I've lost weight and my appetite had reduced alot, so I dont want to start taking it again.

I've been looking at other methods of contraception, and was wondering what you thought to the implant? Does anyone have experience of it? Obviously I know that it doesnt protect against STI's. I just dont really know what to do. Im 19

i had an implant fitted and ever since i had it put in i suffered terrible headaches that i just couldnt shift. this went on for over a year until i couldnt stand it anymore and had the implant removed. but saying that everybody reacts differently to all different types of contraception so maybe it would work for you. what about the injection? you really need to have your worries out with your doctor. good luck.
Another mother at school calls her "bonus" baby Norplant! Not many glowing reviews from the four people I know who have had it!

The implant and injection can both make you put on weight, as much as, if not more than the pills. I'd go and have a long chat with your local family planning clinic (you can google it if you don't know where it is). But you may be a candidate for the coil.

They're really good at family planning clinics and will go through absolutely everything to make sure that they find the best thing for you.

I'm on the patch, mainly because I'm cr@p at remembering to take the pill - wouldn't swear that I always remember to change the patch though!! although it's slightly easier.

i wish i read this thread yesterday as i had the an implant fitted today
