I can only give info from personal experience.
I had frequent headaches (& occasional migraines) with both the combined pill & the Progesterone only pill, so in the end I now have a coil.
I didn't notice any difference with water retention or PMT etc between taking the 2 types of pill, although I think it is the POP that is safe to take whilst breast-feeding.
Thanks both of u, my doctor did say that the periods while on these are significantly a lot less, so its not u....
Also Acorn did you know there is now a new pill called cerazette that now allows the 12 hour le-way for taking it...that was the one my doctor was going to put me on, and thats the one i would go for when i do go on because i also would find it very difficult to take it at the same time too...

I was on a progesterone only injection called Depo -provera. I was on it for 8 years and had no monthly period. I do take migraine though and three years ago the doctor took me off it to see if it would help with migraine but it didnt. I have subsequently had a baby so i had no lasting effects from it.
It lasts for 12 weeks from when you get it so Its good if you have a problem remembering when to take a pill.
