Valentines misery

I know I'm probably not alone but I really hate this time of year when everywhere you go you are confronted by hearts and messages of luurrve! Anyway, not to put a downer on everyone but I could really do with some cheering up and everyone on here seems so nice.

I'm nearly 30 and apart from a few ill-advised and short lived relationships have never really had a proper boyfriend and I've never ever been sent a valentine. I'm used to being alone and don't mind most of the time but right now I'm feeling so down about it. Why is it some people seem to be able to find someone so easily and others find it so impossible? If anyone has any bright ideas for meeting someone nice I'd love to hear them. I'm fast turning into a mad old woman who's main friend is her cat!! Help!!!

Finding someone nice is finding someone with the same interests as you and you can only do that by joining some kind of a club or group or starting an evening class or something. You'll make friends and maybe find 'the one'. Anyway, you won't be losing out as you'll be doing something you like along with people with the same interests. And never forget to SMILE!
