At what age do you have to be for an unmarried man (like myself) to be called a bachelor? Is it an age like 18 or 21?

30 i would say
Id say any age after 18
Whats an unmarried woman then?
spinster
Off the topic a bit but I always find the term 'Spinster' a little negative while 'Bachelor' the reverse.

I'd say it was 16 generally given that is the legal age for marriage. But isn't really used until a time when people would normally get married, from the mid 20's for example.
I agree WoWo, thats what i always thought. One rule for men one for women.
Actaully its a batchelorette

Sorry Actually :-)

And sorry again bachelorette :-)
'Bachelorette' is some sort of American abomination. I don't see what's so wrong with 'spinster'.
Yer but at what age would spinster be ok, coz I cant imagine a 20 year old being a spinster

Thats what i mean its ok for a bloke to be a bachelor at 20 or 50 it even sounds kinda cool. But a spinster gives me the image of a woman in her 50's with lot of cats. I know thats not nice but it what comes to my mind.

Pat Butchers a spinster :-)
The dictionary definition of 'bachelor', in this sense, is an unmarried man and one is generally considered to have reached one's 'majority' - ie manhood - at the age of 18 in the UK. So, a bachelor is any male of 18+ who remains unmarried.

exactly 4getmenot, doesnt paint a good picture!!

Mind you she's having a good time with Patrick!!!

Euuughhhh, la la la la la la. I'm not listening :-)
