i have recently split up with my girlfriend and i still see her alot. she has started to get with one of my best mates and this is very confusing and painfull as i still love her as we have only been separated a few weeks. can anyone give me some advice as to how i get over her and what to do etc..... ???

this is a nightmare...i can fully see why you're in pain. To be honest, it is a bit insensitive of your best mate . Is there any chance you could have a word about how you feel to him. Maybe he hasn't even noticed whats goin on or indeed that it bothers you

Ive been in exactly the same situation, all you can do is act as though nothing has happened and you are completely fine with the situation, dont ask either of them how they are getting on or anything like that, just act as though you have moved on and forgot about it, before you know it you will have got yourself used to that way of thinking and it wont bother you therefore you wont be pretending any more.

Sound advice from the two posters, since I too have been in a similar situation. As a male, out of sight out of mind is a good maxim to help you with this problem. So try and alter your social life so that contact is minimised. Take up a new hobby or find some new/old friends who will give you a chance to get out and find new women. Worst thing would be to mope about and worry about it.
