Lump in my jaw

I've had a little lump (size of a fresh pea) in my jaw for at least 3 years now. It doesn't hurt and you can't see it but I can feel it under the skin when I press along my jawline. I will probably ask a proper doctor about it at somepoint but for now have you any ideas what it could be? There isn't one on the other side - I'm not worried, just curious.

It could be an infected salivary duct, but you should go to the doctor in case it's something more serious. Just to put your mind at ease if nothing else
My dentist tells me it is a salivary gland and some people are prone to stones in them. The dentists wife had to have an operation to remove several stones. Be afraid be very afraid.
