I try to drink as much water as I can during the day, but i'm really not a fan of it! In work i've started drinking it with blackcurrant cordial, just to make it taste nicer. Is the water still as beneficial when mixed with cordial? The one im having is a fruit one with no added sugar.

Hi,

Drinking water with cordial is better than not drinking any water at all. Just make sure that the water you drink is mineral or filtered. Even if the cordial is sugar-free, check the list of ingredients as it may contains sugar replacements and colouring agents that the body cannot really assimilate. Have you thought of adding a slice or a dash of lemon or lime in your water? It's more natural than cordial and will give you additional Vit C! Try and get used to it, because that's what it is, a matter of habit!

I'm exactly the same, I hate drinking water! I make myself do it though because my skin is so much clearer and healthier looking. Plus it's cheaper :)

Like irilys said, put a slice of Lime in it. It's so refreshing

Some health food stores sell just pure undiluted apple juice which just add water to and might want to try.

I like to drink plenty of glasses of Robinson's Orange or Lemon Barley Water a day - not too strong mind!

I always know if I haven't been drinking enough though, as I usually get a headache & start to feel lethargic. So in answer to your question - I think water with a hint of cordial is just as beneficial as plain old boring water.

Thanks for your responses - the slice of lime or lemon is a good idea - i'll give it a go.

I also get that too smudge, which is why i'm trying to drink more!

I've become quite a fan of drinking water with a slice or lemon or lime, and when it's cold I pour boiling water over the fruit slice to make a hot infusion.
its the same. 2cm of cordial is extra to the water not instead of.
I don't like drinking plain water but I do drink alot of the flavoured still bottled water from the co-op, it is very refreshing.
As an alternative, try drinking your water hot with a slice of lemon, or with a herbal teabag. I find the blackcurrant teabags particularly refreshing, and easier to drink than plain water.
I was told by my doctor that drinking water with diluting juice is just the same as drinking water. You are still getting the same amount of fluid.
