Help. My 26 week pregnant friend has developed a really itchy rash just on her abdomen. Anybody else experienced this?

Tell her to go straight to the doctors. When pregnant, you are warned to look out for any itchiness.

It could be anything from dry itchy skin due to stretching, or something more serious, but she will need tests done to rule this out.

This can be a sign of liver damage, she needs to get checked out by the Dr ASAP

thank you, yes she has been to the docs and he has given her hydrocortisone cream and sent her away. She has since looked on the net and scared herself, maybe she needs to get a second opinion, as both her GP and nurse said, "ooh, w'eve never seen anything like this before"!

my sister has had this during her pregnancy and it was something to do with her liver.

i would get a second opinion.

it could be Obstetric Colitis and she really should get a second opinion
