Modern chat up lines??
My sister is recieving a unusual ammount of comments from men suggesting she is a homosexual, even though she is a very femanine woman. Is this some current pulling/put down technique thats going on at the moment? (I've been married 11yrs). She is begginning to get anxious about her appearance as a result of all this.
Thanks, Hamish (the nieve)

I am a lesbian, a mother of two and am considered very feminine and certainly don't conform to the lesbian 'stereotype' that still seems to fascinate certain immature people like your sister's tormentors.
This is just a fine example of rude men opening their mouths before thinking and showing little respect for her as a woman, regardless of her sexual orientation.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were hoping she would go out with them 'to prove' she is straight. They are pathetic, she is fine and I hope she learns to ignore these idiots and lives happily ever after.
sounds as if it's pulling and putting down... some men seem to think you can do both at once, then wonder why it doesn't work.
Or of course it may take the form 'Wanna go out for a drink with me?... Why not? You gay or something?' This can also be ignored. Tell your sister there's no guaranteed way to dress that will repel clowns.
Hi Thanks for the responces folks, I guess as she is tying to find a man she doesn't want to be giving signals that she is not interested in men, to cover the former.
I dont know anyone who I know is a lesbian, but I do know some gay blokes, and there are usually some signals even in the 'quiet' ones (not always in appearance).
The key thing I am trying to find out is if there is a 'culture' or a fad of saying this in order to pull as DMA has suggested.
