One for the girls

Ok bit of an awkward one, a friend of mine may perhaps possibly be pregnant, now i dont want to tell her its not possible as im not a doctor, but the thing is shes had a period just after what may have been conception and now shes 8 days late on this month. Am thinkin theres another reason. Anyone please give us any advice?

Get a pregnancy test kit and / or go to the Doctors.

I am no doctor but I think it is possible. There are loads of cases where girls do not realise they are pregnant as they have periods all through their pregnancy. Has she done a test? If she may be pregnant I take it no precausions were used? I don't mean to be glum but she may have an STI I think she should go to the doctors for a once over it wouldn't do any harm, good luck x x

Close friend of mine didn't know she was pregnant until there was about 1 month to go! She hardly seemed to put on any weight & had periods throughout her pregnancy.

Not very common but it is quite possible. Best go see a doctor.

I had periods all the way through my pregnancy so it is possible, get a test and set your minds at ease!

Totally agree, I was 6 1/2 weeks gone when I found out, and even though I had been feeling sick about a week before I found out, the thought never even crossed my mind, I just thought it was a stomach bug which happened to be going around at the time.

Do a test rule it out and then if it's negative she really needs to see a doctor.

yep, can only agree with the above Mercury. Friend of mine had periods right through the first of her pregnancies, and through to month 3 with her second.

Don't mean to scare here as it's just something to think about....

I had an ectopic pregnancy in 2001 and I had my normal monthly "period" bang on time. The pregnancy test showed up negative too. It was only when I ignored severe stomach pains and more bleeding that I ended up in hospital being operated on. Like I said, I really don't want to be freaking people out here, it's just from my experience, periods don't mean no pregnancy.

Sair5412 I am so glad you posted that...I am recovering at the moment from an ectopic pregnancy 3 weeks ago.I also had a period,although it was late.The other symptoms I had were shoulder pains,brownish watery bleeding and lower stomach pains.I was 6 weeks pregnant and never knew.Was too scared to post this for fear of frightening anyone.I hope that all is ok with mercury's friend...I would hate for anyone to go through this.
