Hi all I have a couple of tattoos and i am goingto be getting another one shortly both of the one i have mean alot to me and I wanted to get another to commemorate something. So question does anyone know where I can get a hand tapped tattoo from I have seen the one that Angilina Jolie has on her lower back and I think is amazing. So any help would be cool.

Hi, That is so great that you have taken so much thought into your next Tattoo, As for the "tapping" way of doing it, It is thousands of years old and would be found in such cultures like China and the Hawaiian Islands. It is done very slow and very painful.. but that is how you "earn" your Tattoo.. and ... just in case you didnt know.. the artist who performs the tattoo wll be the one to choose the tatto for you.. They believe is is a very spirtual thing and they feel they can see into you and see what you need on your body ... as a sign of strength. If you can I would go to Hawaii and get it done.. It would be something you would never forget .. Good luck!!!!

A few months ago me and some friends attended the London Tattoo Convention and there was a stand there where the guy was doing this kind of tattoo. My boyfriend was lucky enough to be able to get a slot to get something done this way. He chose the design he had. The lines and the colour are perfect.

Perhaps it might be an idea to look out for any conventions going on in your area? You can make enquiries into the artist who will be there and may even be able to pre book an appointment. Just a thought

Following on from this, does anyone know where i can find designs for names in chinese characters, i want to get my Grandchildrens names done, my other tatoos are old and naff and i want something a bit artistic, thankyou

Well i already have a Ta Moko tattoo that i got in New Zealand so this going to Hawii may be a good continuation with a theme. If i can be somewhere at the same time as Mo'o Tatau it may work out well. I really like those tribal Polynesian pieces. Thanks for the link Englishbird.
